Why Hire Me?
WHY HIRE ME

If you want the normal result in a criminal case, then go ahead and hire the normal white guy in a suit and tie, which means you might as well go ahead and plead guilty. That's right. Normal lawyer ='s Normal result ='s a guilty plea. That's why Prosecutors win 98% of their cases; because most cases are overcharged by the Prosecutors and then plea bargained out by the poor client's own lawyer. There's something wrong with our American Justice System and its guarantee of Liberty, when Prosecutors win 98% of their cases.

Sentencing laws have become so cruel and unforgiving and the Court's so helpless at sentencing, that Prosecutors routinely over-charge a case, threatening long and mandatory prison sentences, know that the deck is stacked against you from the beginning, because the overwhelming majority of jurors when they first file in, wonder what you did instead of what the Prosecutor is accusing you of. Many jurors mistakenly believe that if they make a mistake, the Judge will fix it. The reality is that the Judge can't "fix it". Many jurors mistakenly believe that if they make a mistake, the Judge will give a light sentence. The reality is that in many cases, harsh sentences are mandatory and the Judge's hands are tied as well. Prosecutors know that the deck is stacked against you from the beginning. Pleading bargaining, means to the Prosecutor, that you waive your Constitutional rights and that they don't have to risk having to prove their version of the facts, to a competent and well informed jury.

On the other hand, Prosecutors know which Defense Lawyers aren't afraid to go to trial and which Defense Lawyers win their fair share of cases. They know that I am a winner.

It is my job to ensure that your rights are protected and that you are not steam rolled over or lost in the shuffle. I promise to do my to defend you (or your loved one). Providing the best defense possible is really the only thing a lawyer can promise. Though, I win most of my cases too.

Fees

My fees are commensurate with my level of excellence. I maintain a small case load so that I can customize my proven strategies for your case. Remember that it is not necessarily how much you spend for your lawyer, but how the money is going to be resourced, that will effect the result. Your fee guarantees that you will have an expert defense team, that is committed to your case from pre-filing to verdict. If it's a DUI, that includes your DMV hearing. If it's medical marijuana, that includes both state and federal defense. You are paying for almost 30 years of experience, experts hired specifically for your case, and the knowledge that you are guaranteed to have a champion in your corner.

Any lawyer that quotes you a comparatively inexpensive fee is either lying to you and counting on hidden fees or does not know what he or she is doing. By not knowing what they are doing, we mean that many Attorneys do not have a realistic idea of how much money it will cost to put a defense team together and to represent you in a first class manner. Remember that the unlimited resources of the District Attorneys Office are being devoted to prosecute you. You are going to have to spend some money if you want to level the playing field and ensure that you receive a fair trial.

By hidden fees, we mean that they will tell you they will charge you one fee to take the case and then drop your case after the Preliminary hearing, after then demanding more money to go to trial. Not only that, but they will do very minimal work on the case before the Preliminary hearing, because they know that they already got most of your money. This is after you have paid the attorney all the money you could raise to retain the attorney in the first place and have no more money to pay the attorney to go to trial. It is disgraceful how common this practice has become.

Then, you will have no choice but to obtain a Court Appointed Attorney. The Public Defenders are a group of lawyers that we highly respect. They are for the most part idealistic, overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated and get a bad rap that they don't deserve. The problem is that they are overworked and do not have the time to spend on every case that they would like to. . And yet, every group of people has its stars and its average and not so average. Hopefully, your Court appointed lawyer will be one of the stars.

However, like them, I too have a zeal for representing the underdog and the under classes.

Common Pitfalls

Any lawyer who promises you anything other than doing their best is lying to you.

Some lawyers advertise that they were once District Attorneys. The question is: Why would they point that out? Are they suggesting that they might still have friends in the D.A.'s office that can cut you a deal? Are they suggesting that they will be better at guessing what the D.A. will do next? They can't use their connections, even if they have any, for every client. They can't think like a Defense Lawyer who has never even risked putting innocent people in prison, and that fatal flaw of ex-prosecutors prevents them from advocating tirelessly for defendants, regardless of the charges.

If ex-District Attorneys get indignant about this, then ask them if they ever lost cases that they prosecuted or otherwise ever made a mistake? If they say no then they are lying to you. First, it's not hard for the Prosecutor to win a case. Some cases a monkey could prosecute. Second, someone who claims they never made a mistake is a liar and you know that. So, there is a substantial possibility that ex-prosecutors put an innocent person or two or three in prison. If not, then they must not be very good lawyers. If so, then why would you want to hire someone like that? All you are to a lawyer like that is a meal ticket.

Also, beware of lawyers that give you the impression they cheat or are somehow connected. Run away as fast as you can. The D.A. knows who cheats and you will pay for (not profit from) being represented by a cheater. Cheating lawyers will cheat their clients too. Run. Run. Run.

Big law firms that have the huge ads in the yellow pages or the Internet, have to charge huge fees, because a large part of the fees have to go toward paying for the advertising. Think about that. In many instances, the advertisements feature "Nationally Known" Attorneys who they imply, will personally take care of your case. The truth is that once you pay the fee, you will be foisted off on an associate or even paralegal that is being paid only a small part of your fee. Your case may be handled by someone you never even meet.

REMEMBER:

Big firms have huge expenses and have limited resources when it comes to providing big shot lawyers for their clients who pay huge fees. Even small firms often have to handle too many cases. I am exactly the right size to provide you with the best legal defense possible. With me you get who and what you pay forÑme :-) and a great result, at a reasonable price.

I am able to settle many cases without going to trial, because the Prosecutor doesn't like to lose trials. I settle them by either obtaining a dismissal or by negotiating the best plea bargain possible under the facts and the law; not just in years but all the other post-conviction consequences as well. I get the best settlement because I go to trial and win the cases that should be won.

After winning tough homicide cases, you can be assured that I am supremely qualified to take any kind of criminal case. I build winning teams, so do yourself a favor and contact me for a consultation. As a private trial team, you will be our only boss.
